Internationally renowned astrophysicist, author and recording artist, Dr. Fiorella Terenzi has a doctorate in physics from the University of Milan. Through research conducted at the Computer Audio Research Laboratory, University of California, San Diego (UCSD), she pioneered techniques to convert radio waves from galaxies into sound, which was released by Island Records on her acclaimed CD "Music from the Galaxiaes." Her award-winning CD-ROM "Invisible Universe" and best-selling books Heavenly Knowledge, Musica Dalle Stelle, and Der Kosmos ist weiblich weave astronomy and music, science and art into a tapestry for the senses.

She has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, People, and Time, and lectured at UCSD, Stanford University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Terenzi currently serves on the CASE Dean Advisory Board. As part of FIU Ignite, she is working on raising funds for a 360-degree full-immersion planetarium for FIU.
